Celebrate America’s Independence Day with 4th of July fireworks in these Texas cities. The sky is lit with red, white, and blue fireworks at night, and vibrant music, food, and fun beckon during the day to celebrate. From the bustling cities to the serene lakeside towns, here are some of the best fireworks shows in the Lone Star State.
Dallas-FT Worth Metroplex
In North Texas, the Dallas-Fort Worth area is known for its grand Independence Day celebrations. Addison’s Kaboom Town, a staple since 1985, features a dazzling display synchronized to music, drawing crowds from all over for the on-average 25-minute fireworks display, after-party, and daytime airshow. The town-wide event is celebrating its 40th year and is one of the most anticipated 4th of July fireworks celebrations. Celebration is July 3, 2024.
If you’ve been to Fort Worth, you are familiar with the Stockyards, but you must visit for America’s holiday! Fort Worth’s Fourth at Panther Island Pavilion offers a family-friendly environment with activities such as tubing and live music, culminating in a grand fireworks display over the Trinity River. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. on July 4th.
Meanwhile, in Dallas, historic Fair Park (home of the Texas State Fair) is home to the Fair Park Fourth. The party starts at 4:30 p.m. Food vendors, entertainment, live music, and an impressive show will be a blast on July 4th.
Austin
The Star Spangled Fest features a live performance with Austin’s H-E-B Austin Symphony during a stunning fireworks display over Lady Bird Lake on July 4th. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. For a more laid-back atmosphere, head to the Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival, which combines local shopping, live music, and a spectacular fireworks show.
Houston
Houston’s Freedom Over Texas, known for its Texas-sized fireworks, is a large-scale celebration held at Eleanor Tinsley Park along Buffalo Bayou. The July 4, 2024 event features live performances from headliner Russell Dickinson, and special guest Jo Dee Messina, among others. Freedom Over Texas will feature a unique non-profit component that joins forces with the Houston Food Bank to help fill an extraordinary demand in our regional community. The event will donate a percentage of food and beverage sales to the Houston Food Bank. Another notable event is the CityCentre’s Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular, where attendees can enjoy live music and dining options before the grand finale.
San Antonio
San Antonio’s Fourth of July Celebration at Woodlawn Lake Park is a beloved tradition. It offers a day filled (11:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.) with family-friendly activities, food, and live music. The event concludes with a magnificent fireworks display over the lake. Additionally, the San Antonio Missions baseball team hosts a fireworks show and concert headlining William Beckmann after the Missions take on the @cchooks at 6:05 PM on July 4.
Coastal Celebrations
Corpus Christi’s Mayor’s Big Bang Celebration is an excellent choice for those near or visiting the coast. The event features a patriotic parade, live entertainment, a stunning fireworks display over the bay, and a fajita cookoff! Galveston’s Independence Day Parade and Fireworks Show offers a beachside celebration with a parade down Seawall Boulevard and a fireworks display over the Gulf of Mexico.
Small Town Charm
Small towns in Texas also put on impressive fireworks shows. Southlake’s Stars and Stripes event features family activities, live entertainment, and a fireworks show synchronized to music, providing a perfect setting for a patriotic celebration. Wimberley’s small-town charm exudes in its July 4th rodeo, and in Granbury, the Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration includes a parade, live music, and a fireworks show over Lake Granbury.
