Bed and Breakfast VS Airbnb. Positive experiences!
The experiences and amenities can be very similar or quite different!
Whether it’s a 100 year old mansion in the country, or a bungalow in the city…the innkeepers main mission is to make your stay a memorable one. Our Texas bed and breakfast association members offer so many options, search the one that best fits your needs.
Most of us would probably agree that the bed is a very important part of the experience. A comfortable bed is so crucial to enjoying a good night’s sleep. Conversely, an uncomfortable bed can ruin the whole trip…causing a person to be grumpy and grouchy and no one wants to be around a grump!
An important amenity is the breakfast. Most would agree that the breakfasts at a B & B is the primary reason why we choose to stay there. There are some very talented cooks and chefs out there that are chomping at the bit to impress us with their mad skills in the kitchen. And sitting around a big table, visiting with new friends can be quite interesting!
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, some have had to make the decision to forego that personal breakfast experience and have chosen to follow a more “social distancing “ style of serving breakfast. Perhaps leaving a tray outside your door so you can savor a nice breakfast in bed. Sounds terrible huh? Actually some guests love it. Some Airbnb’s are known for leaving a quick breakfast for you to enjoy with your coffee in the morning.
Some might prefer the convenience of having a kitchen in their suite or house where one can cook up their own breakfast at their leisure. Some lodgings have a complete kitchen set up so you can do just that. What smells better than bacon frying up in a pan and biscuits baking in the oven?!
Most importantly to some is the availability of good coffee first thing in the morning. We’ve seen some pretty impressive coffee bars as we traveled across our great state. But regardless of whether we brew our own pot of fresh, hot, aromatic java in our suite or house…or we have a hot thermos delivered to our door. Us coffee drinkers can get our caffeine on (or decaf!) and get on with our day of shopping or just laying in a hammock reading a favorite novel.
We all can probably agree that it doesn’t really matter where we spend the night (or week)…as long as we have our loved ones to share the time with… and make precious memories with…we could be sleeping on the ground…in a tent…and all would be right with the world.
So, let’s load up the car and hit the road y’all. Wildflowers will be blooming before ya know it. Hummingbirds will be migrating soon. Hope to see y’all out there!
